Happy New Year! Orange Bowl and New Tennis Sponsor
By Julia | January 22, 2008
Sorry I did not write in a while. I did not forget I have just been really busy lately. I started homeschooling and I’ve been going to tennis 7 hours a day. Anyway I played two major tournaments lately. First I played Jr. Orange Bowl. I did pretty well in that I made it to the round of 32 out of 128. I played girls from Tunisia, Russia, and Venezuela. Second I just finished playing Tennis Plaza cup (a national). I came in third in that tournament!!!
Guess what?!!! I wear the coolest clothes now!!! Thanks to my new apparel sponsor DTL Sport (Down The Line) The tennis clothes are so cool, comfortable, and styling. All thanks to Carla!!! (The DTL owner)

State Doubles
By Julia | September 17, 2007
Pheww!I just finished the state doubles tournament. And what a tounament it was!!! We drove all the way up to Daytona Beach and there was at least 10 miles of traffic ! The next morning I woke up with a bad creak in my neck- it was probably the hotel pillow. Good thing it was doubles so I had a partner to help ( Blair) Blair helped me through the first day and the seconed day my neck was fine. I played excellent!Did I mention they tried to jam the whole tournament in to two days!!!! We lost in the semi final to the number one seeds 8-5 but in the playoffs we won and came in third place! I also played mixed doubles and we made it to the semi finals and then the tournament directors cancelled the rest of the tournament because the weekend was over and they just simply ran out of time. ) : That was a bummer because I really liked the tournament. I love doubles and I want to play again next year!

Girl’s 14’s tournaments
By Julia | July 12, 2007
I just finished playing a couple of G14 tournaments(I’m10!!!!) In a 14 super series that I played in Miami last weekend I had to get through a couple of tough rounds after my easy first round match. I played a very challenging 2nd round match against the #2 seed. And guess what? I won!!!!! I made it to the finals and played the number #1 seed who I lost to twice before. Guess what? I won the whole tournament! I got revenge by taking her out in straight sets! I kept myself pumped up throughout the whole match! You can see the scores on www.usta.com.
The second 14’s I played in was the Team Florida Challenge. It has been one of the only team events that I have played in a very long time. I was undefeated the whole way through winning every one of my matches in straight sets. My team, the jaguars, ended up winning the girls’ event. These matches gave me practice for my upcoming National Clay Court Championships that are being held in Boca next week. This is a supernational event! I’ll keep you posted !

Florida State Closed Tennis Tournament
By Julia | June 16, 2007
I just played Florida State Closed and I came in third place! My first match I won 6-1, 1-1 ret. My second match I won 6-3, 7-5. In my third round I won 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 and I was down match point and came back and won it. In the quarters I played my very good friend Blair. It was hard to play my friend but I had to concentrate and I won 6-4, 6-4. I was very happy when I won because the last time we played I lost to her at Super Nationals. I lost my next match in the semis but then took 3rd place in a hard fought match where I saved two match points and won 7-6 in the third set! So it’s funny… a 12 year old won the tournament, an 11 year-old came in second and a 10 year old came in third!
After the match we celebrated with my coach Rich and went to SeaWorld!!! Rich freaked out on the Kraken roller coaster ride (He said his stomach went up to his throat). We also rode on the Atlantis water ride and we sat in the front row and got all soaked! Rich was chicken to feed the stingrays but i am much braver than him and fed the stingrays and the dolphins. (I will post some pictures of me feeding the stingrays and dolphins soon) We saw Shamu and Baby Shamu too!
My next big tournament is in July at the National Claycourts. I am switching rackets to another Babolat racket - maybe the Pure Drive. We are also going to train real hard. Too bad Rich has to go back to Colorado next week. But I know he will come back to coach me! I can’t wait to get home. The package came from Babolat and I can’t wait to open it!!
Here are the results for the tennis tournament Florida State Closed Tennis.

I’m at the Florida State Closed tournament in Orlando and I’m hanging out with my friend Kealia. She’s playing the 14’s and I’m playing the 12’s but we’re staying at the same hotel. We’re both going to be rooting for each other. Duh!

Fed Cup- USA vs. Belgium
By Julia | April 22, 2007
Guess what?!!!! Yesterday I went to watch the Fed Cup in Delray. I saw Venus and Serena play. I got to sit in box seats with my friends Alicia and Sacha. It was very exciting being so close to the players. Serena and Venus really wallop the ball! Because I am so big and strong, I wallop the ball too! One day I want to play for a Fed Cup team!

Results of Super Nationals
By Julia | April 9, 2007
A couple of days ago I wrote a post on super nationals. Now I am going to tell you the results of super nationals. The results in singles are: in the round of 128 I beat my opponent , 6-2 6-4. In the round of 64 I lost to the 9th seed 6-4, 6-0. I played a great first set because I played so aggressive. In the second set, I did not play agressive . I do much better when I play my attacking style of game. Now I know to keep attacking for my next match. Watch out!!!!
